About us

Let’s Play Rugby is an organization formed by a group of rugby players who believe that rugby, as a sport and as a
culture, has the power to improve lives. The organization’s goal is to provide fun and safe opportunities for people
to experience the sport.

If ever there was a perfect time to try rugby, it is now. Rugby is the newest sport to become an official Olympic
sport, and it will be featured from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. It is also the fastest growing sport in the
United States. The United States’ rugby playing population grew a massive 350% from 2004 to 2011, overtaking
several European rugby powerhouse countries at over 81,000 registered players. Between 2006 and 2011, the
number of high school players nearly doubled. Currently, USA Rugby tallies over 20,000 registered female rugby
players, more than any country in the world. These numbers on their own speak to the many merits of rugby that
Americans are starting to discover.
